In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I started voice lessons in middle school. We had to do a Christmas concert and it was supposed to be nice. I performed my orginal, "The Winter is Coming and Everyone is Worried." It absolutely bombed and my family makes fun of me for it to this day.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? KennyHoopla, Travis Barker, SURVIVORS GUILT: THE MIXTAPE// Taking Back Sunday, Tell All Your Friends Turnover, Peripheral Vision These three albums represent my music taste a whole. I grew up fueled by the raw emotions and desparate melodies on TAYF by Taking Back Sunday. Turnover got me hooked on genre-bending music, and when I saw what KennyHoopla was doing... I wanted in.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Hypnotized (feat. Courtney Gartner)” I wrote Hypnotized during the COVID-19 pandemic. My previous project had just ended, and I wasn't quite sure what was next up for me. But I decided to record a demo for fun. It was a healing experience that fuelled me. Then, sleepingbagzzz was born.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In my last musical project, we opened a show for Hawthorne Heights, which was particularly meaningful for me. That band got me through some of my hardest days when I was a teen, and it just felt like things had come full circle in that moment.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My touring life has been limited to Western Canada thus far. It would be so neat if my music could take me to somewhere exotic one day.
