About Sleepwave
Based out of St. Petersburg, Florida and founded by vocalist Spencer Chamberlain after the dissolution of metalcore giants Underoath, Sleepwave retains the muscularity of his former band while introducing ambient and industrial textures into the mix, resulting in a melodic and accessible sound that leans harder toward the Smashing Pumpkins and Filter edge of the modern hard rock spectrum. Formed in 2013 around Chamberlain (vocals, guitar, bass, programming) and longtime friend Stephen Bowman (guitar, keyboards, bass, programming), the band quickly inked a deal with Epitaph and began work on their debut long-player. The resulting Broken Compass, produced by David Bendeth (Paramore, Bring Me the Horizon, Of Mice and Men), arrived the following year. ~ James Christopher Monger
