Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid, I only wanted music gear for Christmas. I made beats with pencils on phone books and my grandmother's couch, then recorded myself rapping over cassette tapes. Growing up in Jacksonville, FL, I was the one who dreamed of becoming a rapper.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lil Wayne, Tha Carter II T.I., Urban Legend Young Jeezy, The Recession I chose these albums because they shaped my childhood. Jeezy gave me hustle, Wayne made me sharpen my bars, and T.I. showed me Southern storytelling. Coming up in Jacksonville, they made me believe I could be one of them ones.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Thinking out Loud” Thinking out loud is probably my favorite song I ever made. Its special to me because I spent about 19 hours in the studio recording this. Every time I thought I finished, I kept finding ways to make it better. Its next level story telling
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was having my first sold out show in my home state. Coming from Jacksonville, FL seeing people show up and sing my music word for word was surreal.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to do a live performance with a symphony band playing my greatest hits.
