About So Slick
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
One of my earliest memories was my first paid show at NYC’s Pyramid Club. I sold the most tickets that night and we killed the stage performing “Who U Are” from my Tryna Touch a Million mixtape. That night made me believe I could take music further.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Drake, Take Care (Deluxe Version)
Fabolous, The Soul Tape
Nas, Illmatic
The S.O.U.L. Tape showed me how to mix slick bars with soulful records, Take Care showed me how powerful vulnerability can be, and Illmatic represents pure lyricism and storytelling. Together, they represent the kind of complete artist I strive to be

“I Don’t Trust”
“I Don’t Trust” because it came from real experiences with loyalty, betrayal and learning to move differently. It captures my sound perfectly honest, street and vulnerable at the same time. It’s one of those records where I gave people the real me.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of my most memorable moments was the meeting with Warner Bros. Records. Hearing that they believed in the music but wanted me to build my social presence showed me I was closer than I thought and motivated me to take my career more seriously
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
My bucket list is far from finished. I want to make a real living from my music, perform on bigger stages in different cities, and eventually partner with the right label that believes in my vision without changing who I am as an artist.
