For chameleonic Mexican pop singer Sofía Reyes, success didn't come as easy as one, two, three. The Monterrey native was born in 1995 and learned the showbiz hustle from a young age, starring in the 2009 teen musical drama, Mi Linda Anabella, followed by a brief stint in a girl group. A few years later, she was discovered by Dominican-American bachata star Prince Royce, who signed the budding talent and orchestrated her debut single, “Muévelo,” with reggaetón icon Wisin. But Reyes fully harnessed her musical voraciousness on the 2018 global smash “1, 2, 3,” crossing over with De La Ghetto and Jason Derulo and defying categorization with swaths of cumbia, reggaetón, and EDM. She then teamed up with Rita Ora and Anitta for the pop sugar rush of “R.I.P,” followed by a dip into Tex-Mex with Becky G on “Mal de Amores.” Sofía Reyes' 2023 album, MILAMORES, cemented her prismatic pop reign, evoking classic rancheras with Gera MX on the title track and strobing house alongside Danna Paola on “tqum.”
