Stirring up the sounds of such modern psych rock bands as Mercury Rev, the Church, and Doves, Sofamecca released their first album -- Sofa Mecca -- in 2002. Fronted by vocalist Jason Gann, the band turned out to be something of a small-time critical fave, and in 2005 the band returned with the equally well-received Commuters. ~ Chris True
