In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I must have only been about six years old, but I remember seeing my first music video on TV: it was "I Love It Loud" by KISS. It was shocking, scary, brilliant, and absolutely mesmerizing. I was a devotee of hard rock from that day onward. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Marvin Gaye, Let's Get It On (Remastered 2003)
Metallica, Master of Puppets (Remastered)
The Cure, Disintegration (Deluxe Edition - Remastered)
Marvin for the sexuality and seductiveness. The Cure for the emotion and atmosphere. And Metallica for the confidence and power. All crucial elements of the SoulFang sound. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Chemical Meditation”
This was the first song SoulFang wrote together! It's based on our experiences with therapeutic ketamine, and psychedelic medicine. It blends many of the disparate influences in the band: soul, R'n'B, psychedelic, and hard rock. We love it :) What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
At the time of writing, our career is very much in its infancy. But a special achievement for us was playing a New Years Eve show at the same venue where we first decided to form SoulFang just 12 months previously. It was sentimental and satisfying. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
We're a pragmatic bunch so we tend to set near-term, attainable goals; but we truly believe we've got something special in our band and in our music, so the sky's the limit. We'd love to be supporting national touring acts by the end of 2023.
