About Spek
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Trips to the local Sports store with my father.
He'd head straight to the fishing aisle, I'd bolt to the keyboard isle. (Why did a sports store have keyboards?) It was there that I discovered sampling via the SK-1.
I was infected from that moment.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Nine Inch Nails, Further Down The Spiral
Portishead, Roseland, NYC Live
All three of these albums changed my perception of what rock and roll was and could be.
Not necessarily my favorites and not on perpetual spin....just very important to me.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Curved Like Snow”
This song marks a narrowing down of my production style, tools, and overall lo-fi vibe.
I intend to map most of my new releases with this track in mind....whilst also innovating.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Jeremy Enigk sent me a video of him telling me "I love you".
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Score a Sci-fi film with free reign to do what I want.
