Artist Biography
Formed in the late ‘90s by guitarists Pirako Kurenai and Kageo, Shishou no Fune quickly gained a reputation in the Japanese noise and psychedelic rock communities for their mesmerizing guitar improvisations, and for the incredible volume at which they performed. After issuing a series of limited, cassette-only recordings, the group released their official self-titled debut in the fall of 2005. A flood of full-lengths, including WRITHING UNDERGROUND FLOWERS and PRAYER FOR CHIBI (dedicated to the memory of a beloved pet) quickly followed; all featured the group’s trademark blend of minimal percussion and howling guitar feedback.
