Artist Biography
A no-frills working-class rock outfit based out of Ontario, Canada, Sulfur City's lethal blend of rock, soul, R&B, and blues invokes names like the Black Keys, Left Lane Cruiser, Alabama Shakes, and the Dead Weather. Founded by guitarist Jesse Lagace and powerhouse vocalist/electric washboard enthusiast Lori Paradis, the latter of whom has drawn comparisons to Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, and Grace Slick, the band also features the talents of bass player Steve Smith, drummer Sam King, and keyboard player Keith Breit. After inking a deal with Alive Records in 2015, the band headed into the studio to begin work on its debut album. The resulting Talking Loud was produced by Dale Morningstar (Neko Case, Cowboy Junkies) and released in June 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger
