Haryanvi singer, composer and lyricist Sumit Parta’s powerful vocals and gritty stories capture the raw essence of Haryanvi culture. Right from his 2022 song “2 Numbari", Parta’s flair and appeal have been obvious in his ability to blend traditional Haryanvi music elements with contemporary sounds, including pop and hip-hop, as on tracks like 2024’s “Pistol”. Although sung from the perspective of everyday life in Haryana, the song was banned by the state government for glorifying gun culture. But by then, Parta had already amassed a following thanks to breakout hits such as 2023’s dace-floor-ready “Mote Peg”. He then enjoyed a prolific run in 2024, releasing the love song “Teri Meri Jodi” and the EP Boon that featured the hit song “Jaat”, a pledge of allegiance to his community. “Ghane Gande”, with its raw and bold Haryanvi rap style, followed in 2025.
