In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory was when I first heard Hip Hop Hooray by Naughty-By-Nature. I was in Pre-K and we were having a performance; all could remember is that catchy hook immediately grabbing my attention. I've been hooked on Hip Hop ever since.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Big Punisher, Capital Punishment Gil Scott-Heron, Pieces of a Man Nas, Illmatic I chose these particular albums because I'm a poet at heart and each of them skillfully touch on themes I can relate to: strife, identity, social issues, and cultural pride. Pun and Nas taught me how to rhyme and Gil taught me how to let my soul cry.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Free Free Palestine” It was the resilient, courageous, and dignified spirit of the Palestinian youth in Gaza that inspired me to make this song. The whole world has witnessed their faith through suffering and I just wanted to give them something to bolster their spirits.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing how my art motivates people in their activism all around the world has been a truly humbling experience for me. That's the goal of why I do what I do. When I'm inspired, I'm dedicated to inspire others.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? What's left on my bucket list? Alot!! But if I had to give an answer, then it would be (to paraphrase Pac) to spark the mind(s) that will change the world.
