Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 9 years old, I got my first guitar for my birthday. I was mesmerized by the sound of the strings and wanted to become as excellent at playing it as my idols, Harry Sacksioni, Tommy Emmanuel and singer-songwriters like Jason Mraz.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ed Sheeran, ÷ John Mayer, The Search for Everything The Paper Kites, On the Train Ride Home John Mayer and Ed Sheeran have been my favourite artists since I started writing music. These albums have been inspiring me for the songs I wrote. The Paper Kites is another band that has influenced my music lately, with their calm style.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Author of Fate” I wrote this song at a time of change. A lot changed around me and in my life, and at once I wrote this song. It gave - and still gives - me a great deal of comfort with all the disorder of that period, and I hope others can find that as well!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? At the end of 2019, right before the Covid pandemic, I played my first show as a headliner in TivoliVredenburg. An internationally famous stage in Utrecht. Right after that I played at Dutch national radio twice and released 2 amazing singles.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to play Paradiso, in the coming years. A dream that has been there for years and is still on the bucketlist.
