About Tebey
With his deliriously catchy melodies and punchy country-pop, Tebey has crafted hits for himself as well as an impressive group of fellow musicians. Born Tebey Solomon Ottoh in 1983 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, the songwriter started singing at church around the age of five. After a teenage stint in Nashville for a development deal that didn’t pan out, Tebey eventually returned there in 2000 as a staff songwriter at the revered Warner Chappell Music. While Tebey’s credits include working with pop stars like Cher, One Direction, and Fifth Harmony, his own tunes touch on the rootsy traditions of his adopted U.S. home. Early tracks like 2012’s “Somewhere in the Country” highlight his country roots, while more polished fare like 2018’s “Denim on Denim” pumped up the pop. In 2021, he released The Good Ones, on which he married R&B with banjo twang on the bright “See You Around.”
