The Copper Family, from Rottingdean, Sussex, have been "part singing"--traditional unaccompanied harmony singing--for over five generations. Their repertoire of rural songs, originally an aural and vocal tradition passed down from generation to generation, was finally written out for the first time by Jim Copper in the 1940s. After his death in 1954, his children, Bob and Joyce--and their cousin Ron--kept the family's musical flame alive and well. Several grandchildren have since joined the family "Firm"--six of whom have also performed and recorded as the Young Coppers.
