Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a kid in the 60s my Aunt Judi , then a teenager, played me The Beatles’ EP which included ‘Twist and Shout’ .Sparks of joy flew like rockets around my little brain. My molecules kaleidescoped! The magic positivity of that band goes beyond music.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Buzzcocks, Singles Going Steady Deluxe Version Television, Marquee Moon The Beatles, The Beatles 1962-1966 (The Red Album) Electric guitars, songs and more electric guitars

Tell us why you chose this song. “The Sound of the Speeding Cars” In 2017 I wrote the melody for this song and my co-writer , Chris Murrell, wrote the lyrics. Albeit nearly 40 years after we last wrote songs for The First Steps. In the 80s we wrote two songs for Johnny Hates Jazz. ‘Turn The Tide’ and ‘Closer’.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I co-wrote and produced the song ‘Torn’ for Natalie Imbruglia. I played Upright Bass and produced the song ‘Love Cats’ for The Cure. I was bassist for Bryan Adams' band from 2015 to 2017. 53 shows across the world. Grammy nominee for Engineer in 1984
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I still dream of The First Steps winning the Grammy for 2025 Rock Album. Obviously I’d like the band to take a private plane from the UK to LA with champagne on tap and a Limousine awaiting our arrival in California. Oh...And a hit record .
