Artist Biography
Harking back to ‘90s alternative rock, lo-fi indie rock group the G pool from Pavement, Hum, and Dinosaur Jr. to make shoutalongs that are rich with fuzz guitar and hyperactive drumming. In the mid-2000s, while running 423 Tillery -- an underground art space in Austin, Texas -- Doug Foulk and Patrick Troxell started getting heavily into punk and garage rock. The two played in a few bands apiece, and then decided to relocate to Philadelphia. In 2008, they adopted the name the G and recorded their first demo, Hidden in Plain Sight. In 2009, SHDWPLY Records released the band's debut, Hold My Gold. ~ Jason Lymangrover
