About The Interstellars
The Interstellars emerged from their safe haven of Charlotte, NC, in 1999 in order to give modern rock a new face. Their version of "River Euphrates" appeared on the tribute album Pixies F****n' Die!, but it was merely a glimpse behind the wide eyes of the Interstellars. Comprised of DJ/singer Jason Herring, Patch Hanna (bass), Paul Jensen (guitar), Dave Puryear (keyboards), Marlon Young (drums), Karen Kirby (visuals), and Dave Walen (saxophone), the band is a group of experimentalists with a cause. Not only is it about the music, it's about the presentation. The indie rock-tinged EPs This Close to Venus and Echoes appeared in 2000, showcasing tight songwriting. Daydreaming and Know by Touching followed a few months later, along with a deal with Liquilab Records. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
