Artist Biography
The Lounge Brigade is a group formed of members who have an interest in lounge music, spanning from cocktail-style numbers to even a little indie pop. Many of the musicians met when they were part of another large ensemble known as the Enoch Light's Light Brigade that began performing together way back in the late '50s.
Some of the lineup from this grouping includes guitarists Bucky Pizzarelli, Matt Baxter, and Al Cariola; bassist Harvie Swartz; tenor saxophonist Phil Bodner; percussionist Ernesto Abreau; drummer Bobby Rosengarden; and Warren Chiasson on the vibraphone.
In 1998, the Lounge Brigade recorded its first album, Put Some Style in It. A few of the tracks from the band's debut are "Virtual Insanity," "Touch of Grey," "Exotica Medley," "Don't Speak," and "Heart Shaped Box." The tunes are cover numbers, which is what this group does best; made popular by other artists, some from today's headlines, and some from a couple of decades before. ~ Charlotte Dillon
