Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My first concert was as a young teenager in the 70s when I went to see David Bowie at the Glasgow Apollo. The man, the band and the whole experience and theatre of the show made me want to become a songwriter and musician.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Isao Tomita, Snowflakes Are Dancing Virtuoso Electronic Performances of Debussy's Beautiful Tone Paintings Muse, Black Holes and Revelations Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense (Live) [Special New Edition] Black Holes is a prog rock classic for a new generation. Stop Making Sense is the definitive live album from one of best bands ever. Snowfalkes Are Dancing introduced me to the synthesiser and its sonic possibilities and I have never looked back.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Pirates' Gold (feat. Ruth Campbell)” The song is an allegory of my career in the music industry in the 1980s. The ambitions of youth still remains but becomes more measured through life as we realise the importance of the journey as much as the outcome - don't be fooled by Pirates' Gold
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Appearing on Top Of The Pops in 1983 and being one of the last bands to play the Glasgow Apollo before it was closed.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I wrote music for TV in the 1990s but my dream job would be to write a song or the musical score for a successful motion picture or theatre production
