Artist Biography
The World Wide Message Tribe unites the church and the dancefloor, fusing house grooves onto lyrics of Christian inspiration. The British band formed in the early '90s with Elaine Hanley, Andy Hawthorne, and David Mark Pennells, Jr. After releasing several albums to a strictly European gospel audience, the group made their stateside debut with 1996's We Don't Get What We Deserve, on Warner Bros. One year later, World Wide Message Tribe followed it up with the kinetic Jumping in the House of God, which included contributions from two other Christian club favorites, HOG and Shine. Revived followed in 1997; Frantik was issued in early 2001. ~ John Bush
