Over the course of 25 years, Third Day combined Southern rock riffs with a spiritual message, finding success in the worlds of both secular and Christian music.
â Third Dayâwhose name is a reference to the resurrection of Christâformed in 1991, while the bandâs members were still in high school.
â After climbing to No. 11 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart with their self-titled 1996 LP, the group landed in the Top 5 with their next 12 studio albumsâ7 of which hit No. 1.
â In 1998, they took home their first two Dove Awards (for the Conspiracy No. 5 LP and the song âAlienâ), and they would go on to win a total of 24 during their career.
â The band earned 11 Grammy nominations, winning four Awards, including the Best Rock Gospel Album trophy for 2001âs Come Together.
â Beginning with 2005âs Platinum-certified Wherever You Are, they landed four straight albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200.
â In a nod to the groupâs Southern rock roots, 2017âs Revival, their final album, was recorded at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
