About Azure Zane
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My first solo performance was at my school talent show when I was a Freshman. I was able to put my fear to the side and share my voice for others. It was one of the first times when I realized that I wanted to grow as a performer.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Michael Jackson, Off the Wall
The Weeknd, Starboy
Tyler, The Creator, CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
Each of these albums have inspired me on my journey as an artist. Michael taught me about being free in song and rising above the day to day problems. The Weeknd encouraged me to be unapologetic, raw, but sensitive. Tyler makes me want to try.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“It Girl”
This song was the first song that I wrote that I knew was bigger than just any other single. This song represents female empowerment, romantic yearning, and a playfulness that is needed in today's musical landscape.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
The most memorable experience that I have had was when I performed at the New World Festival this past summer. I felt the strongest connection I've ever had with the audience. I was able to let loose and have fun singing songs that were thoughts.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I want to win a grammy and go one a national tour.
