Artist Biography
Starting in Seattle in 2004, singer/multi-instrumentalist Scott Reitherman created gospel-tinged indie folk-pop with a post-punk undercurrent using the moniker Throw Me the Statue. Early on, he recruited a touring band that nominally transformed the project into a four-piece. His literary lyrics, which wavered James Joyce style from the abstract to the starkly emotional, bore a weight in stark contrast to both his wistful vocals and lightly orchestral arrangements. After releasing two albums and an EP, Reitherman announced in 2013 that the group was on indefinite hiatus as he shifted focus to his synth pop solo project, Pillar Point. ~ Jason Thurston & Marcy Donelson
