In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My recital debut in Los Angeles at age 11. It hit the newspapers and got the ball rolling. Soon after I played monthly at the Wiltern Theater. Later I played for the Busch-Reisinger Museum at Harvard University. I will never forget those days!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dick Van Dyke, Irwin Kostal, Julie Andrews, Richard M. Sherman, Robert B. Sherman, The Sherman Brothers, Mary Poppins (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) E. Power Biggs, Bach: Great Organ Favorites Emile Pandolfi, An Affair to Remember These albums gave me a true love of music and the thrist to compose. I later met Richard Sherman and Emile Pandolfi which are some of the most cherished moments in my life. Wonderful memories! When words fail, music speaks. http://www.timkucij.com
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Disney's Electrical Parade Medley: Baroque Hoedown / The Butterfly Rag” I made this arrangement combining the Electrical Parade theme with my piece called The Butterfly Rag from my album A Place Somewhere. The goal was to provide a vehicle to escape from the complexities of life to treasured memories of the past.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I was a child we started a series of musicales. These are wonderful times of playing, discussing music and enjoying snacks. After all these years we still have these. Family, friends and neighbors are invited resulting in a good time for all.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We are very thankful that my music is available through digital platforms like Apple Music. Many libraries also house my music. We are living the dream! We do hope to produce some videos at the keyboard in the near future.
