Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Oh goodness! Singing in church choir with my cousin Xavier for sure. Grandma would take us and it always reminded me of that scene from ‘What’s Love Got to Do with It’ when Tina Turner got thrown out for singing too wild. I was just as wild for them.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Adele, 30
Beyoncé, Lemonade
Toshi, Orchid
Definitely my debut album. An absolute experience and changed my life. Lemonade is that middle-finger album and not giving up on the person you love. 30 got me through one of the hardest breakups. I remember bawling on an airplane when it premiered.

“WHITE”
Wow. This song is a love letter. I really liked this guy and to this day don’t know why and as powerful as the message became. It really was simply, you don’t need to beg for someone to see you. We hold the literal keys to our experience and freedom.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Definitely going into the studio for my 2nd album, because it literally started as a phone call for a single and turned into this four-song EP so we could qualify for GRAMMYs and we ditched the deadline for an entire album four months after my debut.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
EGOT Status haha I mean that’s the goal, right? Honestly, yea. I’m going to get my GRAMMY and perform for The Academy. That’s the top of the list for me. That’s the thrill-seeking I’m interested in. I’m not trying to jump out of airplanes lol.
