Dutch producer Ummet Ozcan has earned a worldwide audience with his booming brand of big room and electro house.
• Ozcan was born in the Netherlands to Turkish parents. He began making as a teen, when he picked up a keyboard and figured out how to play along with his brother’s dance music CDs.
• His signature sound has changed a lot since his early days, when he produced more niche, techno-tinged trance. In recent years, he’s enjoyed commercial success with his stadium-ready big room and electro house.
• In 2015 he teamed up with fellow big room house heroes Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike for “The Hum.” The single hit No. 1 in Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s home country of Belgium. Ozcan reteamed with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike for 2019’s “Beast (All As One).”
• Over the years, Ozcan has churned out ingenius official remixes for dance music stars ranging from Calvin Harris (“Summer”) to Tiësto (“Tomorrow”).
• A self-described gear geek, Ozcan developed his own synthesizer, the Genesis Pro. He describes the 2020 innovation as a digital extension of his “musical brain.”
