Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being so insanely nervous for UNDERSTATEMENT's first show in 2021, pacing back and forth in the halls of our practice space as we were loading up to leave for the venue.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on AppleĀ Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bad Brains, The Youth Are Getting Restless (Live at the Paradiso, Amsterdam 1987) Green Day, Dookie Tough Cuffs, It Got Colder Dookie: This album has no skips on it and influenced our sound more than any other. The Youth Are Getting Restless: Bad Brains had such insane energy live. It Got Colder: Tough Cuffs is my favorite band in Pittsburgh's DIY music scene.
Find a song of yours on AppleĀ Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. āPurple Hazeā Purple Haze was the song that made me want to start playing guitar. All these years later, I never managed to get the song down. Jimmy Hendrix was a guitar god.
Whatās one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Our 6th show ever was in a packed sweaty basement with hundreds of cheering college kids. Feeble Little Horse was on that bill, a Pittsburgh band that would blow up the following year.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Understatement broke up in 2023. I think it would be really fun to have a reunion show with the original lineup one of these days.
