A hard-hitting house music duo known for its use of creative samples, Utah Saints (Jez Willis and Tim Garbutt) took their name from the Nicolas Cage movie RAISING ARIZONA. The act first came to prominence with the 1991 U.K. Top 10 hit "What Can You Do For Me," which sampled the Eurythmics' "There Must Be An Angel (Playin' With My Heart)." After scoring another hit with a track that borrowed from Kate Bush, the group released its debut album, which sold in huge quantities on both sides of the Atlantic. The duo's subsequent output was less frequent, and both Willis and Garbutt became involved in other projects, including DJ'ing and re-mixing. Despite the Utah Saints' inactivity however, the group is acknowledged as one of the first acts to offer an accessible bridge between rock audiences and the house movement.
