About Vaura
Wishing to balance metal's masculine precision with more feminine-inspired atmospheres and emotions, Vaura features singer/guitarist Josh Strawn, guitarist Kevin Hufnagel, bassist Toby Driver, and drummer Charlie Schmid. The band's live debut in September 2011 at New York City club Lit introduced their hard-to-place blend of metal, prog, post-rock, shoegaze, and post-punk, an impression that was cemented by Vaura's supporting dates with Junius and O'Brother in early 2012. These shows happened a few weeks before their full-length debut, Selenelion, which was recorded and mixed by Krallice's Colin Marston, was released by Weird Records. ~ Heather Phares
