Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
It's difficult to choose just one, music has always been a part of my DNA. My grandfather's taste in music was immaculate. From Coltrane to Zeppelin, Diana Ross, Santana etc. Sade always flowed through the house.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
A Tribe Called Quest, Midnight Marauders
Héctor Lavoe, De Ti Depende (It's Up to You)
Sade, Promise
These albums among many more shaped the realm in which I grew. Without these influential pieces in my life I doubt I'd be the artist I am today. Phife Dawg and Chuck D made me pick up a pen and paper.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Performances are always a challenge and exhilarating, I love MCing a crowd. The feeling of stepping out of the booth after a one take KO is untouchable though. I treat this like a sport, I'm competitive.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Shows in NY, then Japan. In that order, I have fans in Japan I would love to perform for one day soon.
