Visionist (Louis Carnell) has been a fixture of London's "future bass" scene since the early 2010s, continually pushing his fusion of grime, dubstep, and U.K. garage into challenging and exciting directions. His tracks combine complex beat patterns, chopped-up vocal samples, and cavernous bass tones, often incorporating gunshots and other harsh sounds. Since first gaining exposure on London's pioneering dance radio station Rinse FM in 2010, Visionist began racking up gigs worldwide and releasing digital and vinyl releases on labels such as Left Blank, Signal Life, Leisure System, and Ramp. In 2015, he released his darkest and most experimental work to date, the full-length debut Safe, on Pan. ~ Paul Simpson
