In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. There's a photograph that exists of me and my dad taken around 1987-88 where my dad is letting me explore a boombox that he had just purchased for us. It was the first time I actually got to see one as we grew up poor, and I remember singing all day.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Above & Beyond, Tri-State Bad Bunny, Un Verano Sin Ti Interpol, Antics These albums are what I would consider my new classics. I really fell into trance and dance music with Above & Beyond. Bad Bunny fuses traditional latin sounds with electronic flair and Antics, because it's such a weird but incredible album!
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Won't Help You Find Mascara” "I Won't Help You Find Mascara" is it for me. It was the first time VA got to explore a more structured style of producing on my iPad, capturing the ethos of VA. I don't think I would've been able to tackle follow up projects without this single.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Realizing I can crank out and create and album in 24 hours, from first note all the way to securing a release date all because of passion.VA has fulfilled me beyond anything and it's so gratifying and so satisfying to call my music 100% mine.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Tour. I would love to take VA on the road but I have no idea what that look like or what that will be. I would love to score films! I have a filmmaking background so I would love to be approached for a film project! I think it wold be fantastic!
