About Waitsfield
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Our grandfather and father were both in bands growing up, so our house was always the epicenter for jam sessions and band practices. We always had music and musical instruments around us, and were always encouraged to dive in. Luckily we did!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Dashboard Confessional, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most
Incubus, Make Yourself
Third Eye Blind, Third Eye Blind
These albums were formative in the development of our various musical tastes and influences. They cover a good chunk of the styles we enjoy listening to and creating. From pop rock to emo, to some heavier stuff, these albums are certainly essentials.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Casting Shadows”
Originally the plan was for the EP to contain 5 songs, but at the 11th hour this song just happened to come pouring out. The lyrics also contain a lot of allusions to Vermont, which is a very special place to our family (hence the name Waitsfield.)
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Being a small band comprised of two brothers, simply writing and releasing our songs together has been a blast. Developing them from songs we just jammed on together—to releasing them to the world and hearing people's reactions—has been amazing.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Getting the amazing feedback we've gotten from everybody on the new songs has really given us the motivation we needed to take things to the next level. We definitely hope to start playing a few live shows very soon!
