About Wayne Khalifaa
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
One of my earliest memories is rewinding an R&B hook on a tiny radio until I nailed the melody. I’d tap out drums, write a quick line, then record and remix it on my phone, always chasing a cleaner sound.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Chris Brown, 11:11
Chris Brown, Breezy
Summer Walker, Finally Over It (The Afterparty)
11:11 and Breezy pushed me to think bigger as a producer, tight pockets, bold switches, and vocals that stay front and center. Finally Over It is pure R&B honesty; the emotion, space in the mixes, and delivery hit me every time.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Hold My Hand (feat. Hayley)”
"Hold My Hand Through the War" is special because I wrote it from a place of love and protection when life felt loud. I built the production around a heartbeat and marching drums so the chorus feels like a promise you can hold onto.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of my most memorable moments was hearing an artist sing my lyrics back for the first time and realizing the song had a life beyond my laptop. That’s when producing, engineering, and writing stopped being a hobby and became my purpose.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I still want to produce a full live-band R&B project and build a studio that mentors new writers and engineers. And I’m chasing that moment when strangers sing my words at a show like they wrote them with me.
