About Windswept
One of the myriad side projects of Roman Sayenkoo, the frontman for Ukraine-based black folk-metallers Drudkh, Windswept takes a more visceral and incendiary approach to the genre -- the band has more in common with the icy, dark ambient attack of Sayenko's inaugural group Hate Forest.
Formed in 2017, Windswept issued its debut full-length, The Great Cold Steppe, that same year via Season of Mist. It was quickly followed by an EP, Visionaire, which was released on Van Records. The group returned to Season of Mist for album number two, the raw and uncompromising Onlooker, which arrived in March 2019. ~ James Christopher Monger
