About Winterfield
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Long western road trips with a single John Denver cassette playing on repeat left an early mark. Those acoustic, unhurried indie-folk songs shaped my pull toward music that feels honest, human, and rooted in memory.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Andrew Peterson, The Burning Edge of Dawn
John Denver, An Evening With John Denver
Simon & Garfunkel, The Concert In Central Park
These albums shaped my sense of intimacy and restraint, grounding Winterfield in indie-folk storytelling, faith, and human imperfection. They feel like companions on long roads, teaching me that quiet, honestly told songs often carry the most weight.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
One of the most meaningful moments was realizing these lyric-driven songs needed their own home. Creating Winterfield let me share stories and faith plainly, apart from my instrumental work, through an intimate indie-folk voice that felt honest.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
What’s left on my bucket list is simple: to keep writing honest indie-folk songs and play them in small, quiet rooms where stories matter more than scale. If the songs keep helping people feel less alone, that feels like enough.
