While singer and songwriter Aoife O'Donovan is best known as the founder and frontwoman of the string band Crooked Still, she is also one-third of the female trios Sometymes Why and I'm with Her. Her collaborators have been numerous and stylistically wide-ranging, among them jazz trumpeter Dave Douglas, the Goat Rodeo Sessions band, and Kronos Quartet. She has become a go-to vocalist in the American folk, bluegrass, and progressive Americana scenes. In 2013, O'Donovan issued her acclaimed solo long-player Fossils. Her performance at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival with Sara Watkins and Sarah Jarosz led to the formation of I'm with Her. They released See You Around in 2018 and won a Grammy for Best American Roots Performance. O'Donovan returned to her solo career with the Joe Henry-produced Age of Apathy (2022), and All My Friends (2024), an album inspired by the women's suffrage movement of the early 20th Century.
Aoife O'Donovan has also released music as a member of Sometymes Why, Crooked Still, and I'm With Her.
