About Young A
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Winning a rap competition worth 15k with 'DStv iRock', been performing with them ever since. But the coolest moments were meeting Mick Jenkins at his private gig in JHB & being stage with Bas & Buddy on the 'Rocking The Daisies' stage. Gully I say!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Isaiah Rashad, The Sun's Tirade
Mick Jenkins, The Circus
Playboi Carti, Die Lit
Well, The Suns Tirade is basically the most catchiest rap album to me, timeless. Definitely an influence to my sound, Die Lit is exactly that, lit!! Sonically amazing yet catchy too, and The Circus is lyrical, catchy yet short & sweet. Pure genius.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Only Way (outro)”
"Tryna be a better man I was from yesterday with no delay -Im thinking oh shii man that's the only way"...
A lot of truth, emotion & message behind this outro to my favourite tape I've done this far. A lot of the fans agree. Tell me what you think?
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Besides turning down a Tv Show called 'Vuzu: The Hustle' because I was in my matric year & my 'rents would kill me lol, it was moments bumping into the late Riky Rick backstage at gigs, our small convos, support & advice from him... we miss you Riky
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Definitely, besides becoming an internationally known artist... I want to give back... give people hope and opportunity, really show people that dreams do come true & that talent pays off.
