Composer-singer Anirudh Ravichander’s film soundtracks are more often than not packed with power and energy. But somehow he manages to turn the intensity up even further for 2024 Tamil action drama Vettaiyan, starring Rajinikanth. There’s a relentless pace throughout, kicked off by full-blooded dance number “Manasilaayo” and the rocky “Clean Shot”. What makes both of these tracks particularly memorable is that they feature vocals based on the late, great Malaysia Vasudevan—thanks to a combination of the power of AI and the voice of his son, Yugendran. This is reason alone to listen to this dramatic soundtrack.
