Psychedelic funk-rock outfit Arc de Soleil is one of many projects of prolific Swedish composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Kadawatha. Born in Sri Lanka, Kadawatha was adopted at six months old and raised in Sweden. Initially influenced by his father's love of the Spotnicks and the Shadows, he later took inspiration from the likes of Asha Bhosle and Khruangbin. He prolifically released tracks online under numerous monikers and in a wide variety of styles, but it was Arc de Soleil that caught the most attention with its groovy, funky, reverberant, largely instrumental sound. After releasing several EPs with recording, production, and all the instrumental parts done by himself, he decided to form a band and take Arc de Soleil on the road, drawing crowds with a captivating performance style reminiscent of Prince and Lenny Kravitz. Arc de Soleil's debut album, Lumin Rain, was released in 2025.
