In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Our first concert was in 2006. It was a concert in which we sang Renaissance music. One of the songs was El grilo by Josquin des Prés, from which we took are name.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Christina Pluhar, L'Arpeggiata, Monteverdi: Teatro d'amore Jordi Savall, The Routes of Slavery The King's Singers, Wonderland 1. Baroque music in a new fresh way, accessible to contemporary audiences. 2. It has a unique sonority that allows it to be one piece in itself. 3. It shows the political importance of music (comes from moments of horror due to slavery).

Tell us why you chose this song. “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child” It is an expressive song about sadness, which sometimes is like the feeling of those who are far from home. The harmony of our version is very moving and it allows the ensemble to explore all of our dynamic range.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Sa qui turo. We sang this concert in Teatro Mayor in Bogotá, as it was the first time that we met our audience after lockdown. One year later, we shared this concert with the children of San Basilio de Palenque, the first free town of the Americas.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Our music comes from places all-around the world. We would like to take our music back to those places that have given us inspiration, from Asia and Africa, to Europe and all the Americas.
