Welsh producer Koreless makes highly physical music that seldom incorporates beats, instead building looped samples and chopped vocals into hypnotic rhythmic patterns. Influenced by science fiction writers like J.G. Ballard and minimalist composers such as Steve Reich and La Monte Young, his music is intended to be artificial and process-based, yet express wide-screen emotions. He collaborated with Sampha as the duo Short Stories, and has additionally worked with David Byrne, FKA twigs, SBTRKT, and others. A decade after the release of his first single, his full-length debut Agor arrived in 2021.
