Paula Tape is the alias of Chilean DJ and producer Paula Soto Carmona. Born in Santiago de Chile, her first immersion in music was as a drummer for several indie rock bands, a formative experience that would later inform the intricate rhythm patterns of her eclectic, Balearic house-influenced productions. In order to further pursue her career, Tape moved to Europe, where she managed to become an internationally recognized DJ, touring the world and being featured in the genre's foremost magazines and radio stations, as well as holding residences in cities such as London, Paris, and her adopted home of Milan. Her first EP, Agua Congas, was released in 2018 and was followed by 2021's Astroturismo and 2024's Acid Latino.
