In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I began studying music formally with classical piano lessons in the 3rd grade. When my teacher introduced songs from Disney movies, I never stopped playing. Both Alan Menken (Beauty and The Beast) and Andrew Llyod Webber had a strong impact on me.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Anna Nalick, Wreck of the Day Britney Spears, Femme Fatale (Deluxe Version) Sia, Some People Have Real Problems While typically Sia is known for pop numbers, Some People Have Real Problems is for singer-songwriters. Hard to find a better dance pop album than Femme Fatale. Wreck of The Day was my favorite album in high school. Love In my Head and Consider This.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Game (Artist Mix)” I like this song because it's fun to perform and sing. It's influenced by a simple country style of writing and has a chorus that I like singing. I also love that it includes video game sounds and love the game imagery and chorus metaphors.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? After four years at Berklee College of Music I moved to LA. In Hollywood, I connected with a producer and it helped me start putting my music first. I'll never forget the excitement of writing and trying to give my song demos to producers.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I think I would like to play in LA venues like Viper Room and Hotel Cafe. I sang back ups for my friend Meg Todd and Kari Kimmel while I was in Los Angeles, but I would like to have my own show.
