Celtic-pop band Sin É grew out of the loosely-organized Steáfán Hannigan Band, and in addition to the acclaimed piper Hannigan also included vocalist Taz, keyboardist Mike Cosgrave, percussionist Ansuman Biswas, fiddler Teresa Heanue. Upon signing to Rhiannon Records, Sin É ("that's it") recruited second piper James O'Grady prior to recording their self-titled debut LP; after cutting the follow-up, It's About Time, Biswas left the line-up to focus on his theatrical work, with percussionist Ben Clark signing on as his replacement. Following a stint in the touring company of Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, Heanue left Sin É as well, and with new fiddler Gerry Divver in place the band moved to the Wicklow imprint to issue their third LP, 1999's Deep Water Dropoff. ~ Jason Ankeny
