Combining street narratives with a calculated delivery and a proclivity for guitar-based instrumentals, rebel rapper T9ine is taking an alternative approach to trap music.
• Young T9ine was a football player with dreams of competing professionally. However, his academic performance prevented him from seeing those aspirations through.
• The Tampa native dropped out of school in tenth grade to hustle in the streets and write music. His first major moment came shortly after, when his 2018 freestyle over Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money” beat went viral.
• Refusing to be dubbed a one-hit wonder, T9ine returned in 2019 with his debut mixtape, From Nun to Something. The remix of the project’s lead single, “Mind of a Real,” featured Lil Durk, and its music video garnered millions of views.
