Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Driving with my mom and aunts, memorizing every song. My mom put me in dance at 4—I danced 17 years before singing. First concert? Backstreet Boys in ’96—changed me forever and made me want the stage for life.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Angels & Airwaves, We Don't Need to Whisper (Digital Version) Digital Version Paramore, Riot! Taylor Swift, Red We Don’t Need to Whisper, this album saved me in high school. Red, it carried me through heartbreaks, grief, and change. Riot!, it's raw, angry, alive—and it showed me I could be Thea May, not just a fan of music, but an artist shaping my own.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You And Me” It is a parting letter to my late partner Keenan. It’s proof love doesn’t die—it shifts, it expands, it survives us. Writing it forced me to face loss but also showed me how love exists beyond the physical. It’s survival in song form.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing my record was everything—like letting a lifetime of grief and love out of my chest. Getting on a plane, taking that music overseas, and standing onstage at my first international festival? That was the moment I knew this dream was real.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to tour and play milestone stages. But more than that, I want to use my music to open up conversations around Indigenous trauma and grief healing—because the songs that almost break us are the ones that can save us too.
