For Kings of Leon, playing live can open up another dimension between them and their fans. “Listening to an album is like reading a book: You create the characters in your own mind,” Jared Followill tells Apple Music. “A live show can set the mood and tell the listeners how we want them to digest the music.” Following the release of their ninth studio album Can We Please Have Fun in May 2024, Kings of Leon hit the road—and what they’ve found so far is that fans are just as excited to hear the new album as they are the band’s biggest hits. “All artists are excited to play their new stuff, but the crowd is responding to them like they are old songs,” says Jared. “There isn’t a big drop-off between the stuff they know and the brand-new stuff.” The song from the album that’s going off most? “Seen,” which you can hear here alongside more songs from the tour.
