Matt Corby: Summertime Sounds
Playlist - 35 Songs
Ahead of releasing his fourth album in March 2026, Matt Corby is planning to spend his summer relaxing with his family. “Mostly hanging with the kids, playing some golf, and spending time at the beach, enjoying the break and being outside,” he tells Apple Music. He’s curated this playlist as a summer soundtrack of sorts—specifically, to be played while driving, as that’s where he listens to music most often. “They’ve all got that easy, feel-good vibe,” he says, describing the sound. “The kind of songs that sound better when you’re driving. A mix of new stuff and a few classics that just fit the mood.” Read on for more on some of his top song picks. Dirty Art Club, “What If” “The album that this track is on is absolutely amazing. The whole thing feels like a soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s life, and this track in particular has a feel-good soulful beat with such simple lyrics that are somehow really profound and thought-provoking.” Finn Rees, “Ablaze” “This is such a gorgeous piece of music. Amazing melodies, beautifully performed. It’s from one of my favorite jazz albums I’ve heard in a long time, and it’s always nice hearing a fellow Aussie making something of such high quality.” Radiohead, “Packt Like Sardines in a Crushed Tin Box” “This has been one of my favorite Radiohead songs of all time. I love this band more than any other and this just feels light years ahead of its time. I feel like if someone released this song today, it’d still be so mind-blowing for everyone. The production is amazing, the musical and rhythmic elements are so clever and hypnotic, and it’s just cool and tough.” D’Angelo, “The Root”Voodoo is just a masterpiece, probably my most-listened-to album front to back. D’Angelo has just been such a North Star for so many artist and musicians. He was almost alien in his approach to writing and recording.”
